Local-first by design. Optional AI only when you open the guide. Terms
Solara is a local-first wellness tool for meditation timing and mood journaling. This deployment is a portfolio sample, not a clinical service. Not a medical service.
Journal entries, meditation sessions, timer state, custom sound metadata, and an on-device encryption key are stored in your browser (localStorage). Custom sound files use IndexedDB. Data does not sync to a cloud account by default.
If you open the floating guide and send a message, a compact snapshot of recent journal and session context may be sent to the configured chat API so the guide can answer in context. That request is only made when you use the guide. Do not send information you would not want processed by an AI provider.
On this portfolio sample, guide requests may be processed through a chat API hosted for the demo (OpenAI-compatible model + Cloudflare edge). Hosting for the site itself may run on Cloudflare. Those providers process data under their own terms to run the service.
Journal and session payloads are sealed with AES-GCM in the browser. The device key is also stored in localStorage. This reduces casual reading of raw notes in storage, but it is not a full threat model against XSS or someone with access to your device profile.
You can use Meditate and Journal without opening the guide. Use Export data or Clear local data in the site footer (or clear site data in your browser). There is no multi-device backup unless you add one yourself.
This page is plain-language product documentation. Replace it with counsel-reviewed policy before operating as a commercial wellness product.
